Crèche

Our Crèche is fully registered with OFSTED, giving you peace of mind that your child is being looked after in the right environment by suitably qualified and experienced staff. The Crèche caters for children aged three months to five years. All children receive the care and attention they require in order for them to feel comfortable and to get the most out of their visit.

The Crèche is available for members to leave their children for up to 2 hours. Whilst you exercise, we provide a service with a difference by stimulating the children in all areas of their development through the use of a wide range of materials and equipment. This leaves you free to enjoy your time at the Club.

We ensure:

• Children enjoy their time while parents enjoy their leisure time
• Provide a stimulating development while having fun
• Children are looked after by qualified and experienced staff
• Fully registered with OFSTED
• Crèche times coincide with club activities timetables

Opening Times & Booking

The opening times have been purposely arranged so that they coincide with the wide variety of classes and activities you can enjoy at the club.

Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm

Saturdays from 9.00am to 11.00am

We encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment; the crèche is very popular and we must limit numbers in order to provide the best care. If you need to change your arrangements, there is a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation of a crèche place, otherwise the full payment will be charged.

Children’s Birthday Parties
Fun packed Birthday Parties are available for children aged 4 – 12 years. Your child and their guests can enjoy an hour of fun in their chosen activity, followed by an optional swim and party meal. The activities offered are Traditional Party Games, Soccer, Team Games, Climbing, Go Karting and themed dance parties. Speak to our Party Co-ordinator who can tailor the perfect party for your child. Parties

Charterhouse Club currently offers a number of different parties, so you can sit back and relax and let us entertain the children or get involved and run your own party.

Birthday Parties are available for children aged 4 – 12 years. Your child and their guests can enjoy an hour of fun in their chosen activity, followed by an optional swim and party meal (please note: when swimming, children under the age of eight MUST be accompanied in the water by an adult at a maximum ratio of two children to one adult). If you would like any further information on parties at the Club please download and complete the party booking form with your initial details. We will then follow up with a call to finalise all your arrangements.

Please note that a party form must be completed before we are able to discuss bookings. This allows us to have an idea of your requirements and be able to prepare and put forward options should your first choice not be available. Be advised that some parties do require external instructors and as such it may take a couple of days to be able to turn a booking around whilst we confirm availability.

Go Karting Party

Go Karting Parties are the newest and most exciting children’s entertainment activity – a fabulous way to give boys and girls aged 4 –10 years, an experience they will never forget. Driving our battery operated karts around an inflatable mini Grand Prix circuit children enjoy a completely safe and exhilarating first real driving experience. Go Kart Parties are suitable for all types of fun occasions.

Party for 12 children costs £195.00

Mega Mix Parties

This party will be a mixture of 2 of your chosen games (choose from football, basketball, quick cricket, hockey, dodgeball and netball). Our staff will start you off with a basic warm up before launching you into your first chosen activity. Each activity will include skills and finish with a match. Parties last for 60 minutes and are suitable for children over the age of 5yrs. Prices are:

Climbing Parties – 90 minutes

Charterhouse Club has an amazing climbing wall with various caves, chimneys, cracks, flakes & a unique moveable overhang & slab. Our qualified instructors will take you through kitting up, bouldering and be-laying before letting you loose on the wall. Parties last 90 minutes and are available for children aged 8yrs and over. Prices are

£60.00 for up to 6 children £120.00 for up to 12 children

Drama & Special FX Make-Up Parties

This party will be very different from any you have been before! Find out how stage make-up is used in theatre, films and TV to create special effects. Start off with drama games then learn the art of creating scars, bruises and injuries that look just like the real thing and give you mum a fright when you return home with a open wound or black eye – fake of course! Younger children, or those who are squeamish, can be accommodated with face painting. Parties suitable for children aged 5-16yrs. Parties last for 90 minutes and cost

£135.00 for up to 12 children £165.00 for up to 16 children

Football Party

Ever dreamt of playing for Liverpool or Arsenal? Have high hopes to play for your country? Well, your dreams can come true here by inviting your friends to your football party. Our staff will take you through top quality football skills and tactics, including passing, dribbling and shooting and will finish the session with a big match. Both boys and girls are welcome.

Parties last for 60 minutes and are £87.00 for up to 12 children and £130.50 for up to 18 children

Extra Party Guests – If you have any extra party guests you would like to invite, then don’t worry as you can pay £7.25 to add to your numbers. Cost applies to activity only and excludes Go-Karting, Climbing and Drama.

Room Hire Only – Do you fancy your own DIY party, but don’t have enough space at home? Then why not hire a room at the Club to entertain your child and friends. We have the following rooms available:

Crèche Room or Activity Studio £30.00 per hour

Sports Hall (one side) £60.00 per hour

Extras Available

We can offer you some extra time and additional options to spice up your party and give it a little something extra without the added stress. You can add any of the following to your party:

•Bouncy Castle @ £20.00 per hour
•Soft Play Toys & Equipment @ £10.00 per hour
•Bibs & Balls @ £10.00 per hour
•Pre-ordered Invitations: £2.50 for 12, £3.00 for 18 £3.50 for 24.
For parties for younger age groups we would recommend an Activity Studio hire with some extras, such as Bouncy Castle and Soft Play. We are able to provide you with rules and instructions for party games so you can run your own child’s party.

Swim Academy

The Charterhouse Swim Academy is a club open to children aged 8 to 16, who have attained a minimum level 12 of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. It is aimed at young swimmers of pre-competition ability, and will train and develop them for competitive swimming.

We aim to achieve this by consolidating effective swimming techniques, racing skills and a range of drills and practices. Later stages will introduce more demanding aspects of training and development.

The Academy has a nurturing approach to an individual’s training and achievement but expects a significant level of commitment from all swimmers. Regular attendance, participation, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key attributes that will produce successful swimmers.

Academy swimmers will be invited to swim in the annual Charterhouse Club Junior Sprint Gala and Swimming Gala.

When and how long

Each Academy session lasts 1 hour and takes place on Wednesday afternoons at 5:00pm (during term-time only)

Sessions may include both water and land based training.

How to Join

We want all of our young swimmers to get the most out of their sessions so we will assess each swimmer’s experience and ability to ensure they are ready to join the Academy. Entry to the Academy is subject to a free pre-selection assessment and swimmers must pre-arrange this with the Academy Coach.

Should a swimmer not meet the necessary ability for entry to the Academy we will discuss suitable alternatives to help the swimmer achieve the desired standard.
